Tiwa Savage, Davido nominated for Best African Act for MTV EMA

The duo of Tiwa Savage and Davido have been nominated in the 2018 MTV Europe Music Award in the Best African Act category.
In the nominees’ list that was unveiled on Thursday, Tiwa Savage and Davido were nominated alongside Fally Ipupa (Democratic Republic of Congo), Distruction Boyz (South Africa), Nyashinki (Kenya), and Shekhinah (South Africa).
Cuban-American singer, Camila Cabelloemerged the most nominated artist with nods in six categories including “Best Artist” and “Best Video” for “Havana” featuring Young Thug. Ariana Grande and Post Malone are very close behind with five nominations each. Drake, Shawn Mendes and Dua Lipa also snagged an impressive number of nods with nominations in four categories each.

Naira appreciates against dollar at parallel market

The Naira on Tuesday appreciated against the dollar at the parallel market, exchanging at N360 to the dollar, stronger than N361 posted on Monday. At the Bureau De Change window, the Naira was sold at N360 to the dollar, while the Pound Sterling and Euro closed at N477.5 and N413. Trading at the investor’ window saw the Nigerian currency close at N364.33, with a market turnover of 198.71 million dollars. The Naira had remained stable at the foreign exchange market, owing to series of interventions by the Central Bank of Nigeria
